A totally original battlefield found WW1 German sniper shield with swivel peephole & supporting arm.
 
This heavy steel-angled-edged shield is one of many variants encountered these being well used by the troops with the risk of snipers ever-present.
 
“The moving parts such as the loophole plate and leg are sized in position but would move with some manipulation. No cracks on the shield plate, and the lines running down the shield are paintings from a very old paint attempt”.
